Dedication to the GRASP System is apparent within our ranks. Our staff members represent well over 100 years of collective GRASP experience. As skilled communicators with deep healthcare domain experience and a mastery of workload measurement technology, our consultants possess a broad range of clinical, administrative, and managerial experience.

Penny Meenan, RN, MBA
Chief Executive Officer

With more than three decades of experience in critical care, medical/surgical, orthopedics, and neurosurgical nursing, Penny understands the work involved in caring for patients. She also knows what it takes to staff, schedule, and budget in a variety of settings - from tertiary care to community hospitals - after serving as staffing manager for 15 years. Penny was introduced to the GRASP methodology while working as staff nurse and shift supervisor. She experienced first-hand how GRASP could help her make equitable assignments and determine appropriate utilization of resources throughout the facility.

Since joining GRASP in 1990, Penny has offered her experience as a nurse and consultant to the benefit of over 75 facilities. Now, as CEO of GRASP Systems, she'll continue to build on a solid foundation and further establish the company's products and solutions in the healthcare industry.

Debbie Reid, RN, BHMc
Director of Client and Technical Support

Debbie has combined experience in Nursing and Information Services that expands over twenty-five years. Her experience in the nursing field includes Medical Oncology Nurse and Special Projects Nurse. In the technology field, Debbie has served as Director of Information Services responsible for implementation of a hospital information system and as Project Manager to projects related to nursing and information technology.

Debbie has served as Director of Customer and Technical Support with GRASP Systems since 1999 where she draws on experience to provide consistent, outstanding, and professional customer service. Debbie is committed to the client and strives to increase the level of service offered through the implementation of practical front-line service techniques and strategies for dealing with software issues. Her success renders practical solutions and lasting results.

Michael Wellborn
Director of Information Technology

Michael's diverse career in Information Technology has allowed him to gain a perspective that benefits GRASP Systems and our clients. He has served such roles as Network & Systems Manager, Database Administrator, Application Developer, Architect, and Project Manager. Prior to coming to GRASP Systems, Michael served as a consultant to GRASP for several years working primarily on the MIStroClef Platform. His approach to Information Technology allows applications to be developed and implemented quickly and successfully. Michael's applications have been honored by achieving Microsoft Independent Software Vendor Certification and are currently being utilized by a variety of companies from Fortune 500 to small market operations.

Laurie Sams, MN, BScN
Director of Canadian Operations

With her 30+ years of experience in various specialties of Nursing in Canada and the United States, Laurie understands the challenges of every aspect of today’s healthcare environment. Having worked with administrators, finance, clinical staff, and technical departments, Laurie has an excellent ability to communicate with all levels of healthcare professionals. She has been responsible for all of the consulting for MIStroClef in Canada as well as led the development of the suite of products. Throughout her 9 year career at GRASP Systems International Companies, Laurie’s vision and business acumen has helped over 50 facilities provide better care, financial stability, and improved outcomes. Laurie now oversees all Canadian operations and participates in new business development for GRASP Systems Canada.
